LDEG at Conference

2.50.23pm GMT Mon 5th Mar 2007

LDEG had a very busy and hugely successful Spring Conference whilst establishing its new President, Andrew Duff MEP, and new Executive Committee (see Contacts page for details). Our packed EU50 fringe event on Human Rights within the EU brought up major problems that urgently need addressing. We had three excellent speakers - Sarah Ludford MEP, Catherine Wolthuizen (Director Fair Trials Abroad) and Lotte Leicht (EU Director of Human Rights Watch). The LDEG / Liberty Network evening reception was great fun with anecdotes from our speakers including Nick Clegg. Videos of both events will shortly be published on this site and more details will be available in the next newsletter.
