This week's Federal Trust events

8.19.43pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 20th Jun 2007

The Federal Trust is holding two events this week. The first is the launch, on 21st June, of their new report on Justice and Home Affairs. In it, they argue that the rapid changes in this area over the past five years will now probably be followed by a period of consolidation and review rather than one of further radical institutional developments. The report will be launched by its author, Professor Jo Shaw of Edinburgh University, on 21st June at London Metropolitan University (near Tower Hill Underground Station.) The event will last from 1430 until 1700 approximately. The report will be posted in due course on the Federal Trust website and hardcopy versions of it will be available for £5. The second event is on 22nd June and will be an analysis of Bulgarian attitudes to the EU six months after joining the Union. Two colleagues from Sofia University, Doctor Rumyana Kolarova and Doctor Katia Christova, will be joining the trust to discuss the recent European Elections in Bulgaria and their implications for Bulgaria and the Union. The event will take place at the European Parliament Office in London, starting at 1100 and finishing at about 1530. A sandwich lunch will be provided. The event is part of the European Commission's CONSENT programme. To register please contact director@fedtrust.co.uk
