Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, addressed the Liberal Democrats on Tuesday 18th September at Brighton Conference Centre. He said it was perhaps not a good idea for him to talk about the "C" word or the "T" word or even the "R" word but he was concerned that if he avoided so much the English language could die out.
