Federal Trust events2.39.40pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 10th Sep 2009 Two new events have been announced by the Federal Trust both taking place at London Metropolitan University. The first on the 29th September from 5pm-7pm is 'British Exceptionalism in the European Union.' Read on for more details - This will be the final conference in the Federal Trust's series of conferences on 'British Exceptionalism'. This series of conferences has been suppported financially by the European Commission and the conference, chaired by Sir Stephen Wall, and will be a chance to review key topics covered during the series. The Federal Trust will also be using the occasion to launch a Federal Trust pamphlet based on the most important contributions to the conferences over the past year. The general theme of the conference will be to ask whether 'British Exceptionalism' within the European Union genuinely exists, and, if so, whether it is a subjective phenomenon, an objective phenomenon, or a mixture of the two. The second event takes place on 28th October from 4.30pm-7pm and concerns 'Cornwall in Europe.' This conference will be an opportunity to learn more about one of the historic regions of the United Kingdom and Europe from representatives of Cornish cultural and intellectual life. Organised jointly with Cornish cultural group CERES, it will also be an opportunity to understand better the European links and networks in which Cornish representatives participate. Please let Federal Trust know if you would like to register for either of these two occasions. Please reply to info@fedtrust.co.uk
