HoC meeting - The Tories: Isolated in Europe and Letting Britain Down

11.16.00am GMT Sun 7th Feb 2010

Ed Davey

Ed Davey MP and Europe Minister Chris Bryant MP are to speak at a meeting on 23rd February at the House of Commons, Committee Room 19, between 6-8pm. The issues raised will then be debated. Everyone welcome.

The Conservatives have now withdrawn from the main centre-right grouping in the European Parliament, to form a new group with a few extreme right parties. Their cast-iron guarantee for a referendum was shattered. Their policies towards Europe have been condemned by some of their own MPs, MEPs and all the main British business groups.

How can the other British parties undo the damage the Conservative position is having on Britain's interests and reputation? Is there hope that their attitudes may change?
